Hit Your Second Shot First
Most amateurs, if given a second try at a particular shot will hit it much better on their second attempt. Why is this?
The main difference is tension management. The pressure and strain from an inadequate pre-shot routine creates tension in the mind and body. Once the shot is struck unsuccessfully, the performance pressure is instantly gone. The second ball is thrown down, the muscles are more relaxed, and the mind and body can finally become instinctive.
Simply look, feel and/ or sense the target and take action. Standing over the first shot for too long does not work. Create the illusion that you’ve already hit the shot and let it go. . . Hit your second shot first.
