Disappointed or Frustrated?
Equivalent to the tumultuous fairway of Delaveaga’s 10th hole, a three-week break from golf is a long time, let alone three months! After a practice interruption, a proper set-up position, delicate short game feel, and fundamental mechanics can be absent when returning to the game. This leads to frustration and disappointment.
Although both are unfavorable emotions, disappointment produces an atmosphere of hopelessness with no further options for action. Conversely, frustration has an opening for hopefulness. Improvements can still occur, and frustration delivers the energy for advancement.
As always, an attitude of gratitude goes a long way. When frustrations mount, we harness the extra intensity to get the rust off our game. We’re grateful we are healthy enough to be playing this great game, and the courses are still open!!!
