Ryder Cup Reminiscing about Payne Stewart
Rumor has it, during a past Ryder Cup match against David Feherty (yes, the crazy commentator), there was a crowd control issue.
Feherty was trapped behind the swarming crowd. Trying to get through the crowd and back to the fairway to continue his match with Payne Stewart, a misguided marshal stops Feherty and pushes his “QUIET” sign into his chest and protests,
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Held captive behind the crowd and marshal, apparently, Payne Stewart came over and put his arm around Feherty. With a huge grin on his face, Stewart says to the mistaken marshal,
“Man, I’d love for you to keep this a-hole right here, but he’s playing against me.”
